Public art
Kirstine Roepstorff creates dynamic public art that arouses citizens’ curiosity and educates them about the area they live in. In her own words:
“My public works have a large element of play, where you may be distracted and inspired. They require unity, human contact and perhaps reflection. They are meant for people to connect with each other. Especially today, where our extended arm is an iPhone, where everyone is staring at a screen, and everyone meets in a virtual space, it makes a lot of sense to create something where we can meet each other in a physical, sensory world. The more we bury ourselves in computers, the more potential art has.”
